Draco Alert!! :

Intergalactic merchants, spies, rumormongers and other sources of occasionally-questionable intelligence have reported that an empire-that-shall-not-be-named wandered into a system claimed by the dreaded Death Machines, was warned to leave under the threat of severe penalty, and instead chose to poke about in the system, resulting in the utter and complete annihilation of his forces there. Subsequently, DMX forces in the entire region that were otherwise in a somewhat dormant state began to stir....

Somebody had better confess. Who is to blame for bringing this plague upon us?

My guess is that this was a pre-programmed event and that no player caused it. He gave us around 13 turns or so to get things up and running and now we have to start dealing with the Non-Player adversaries.

I did not have much experience with Andromeda but weren't these NPC fairly uncommon? Draco of course is to be more dangerous so I suspect we will see them more commonly than Andromeda.

When we're them will resistance be futile or does anyone have tips on how to beat them?

Death Machines will have very strong troops , they can colonize many planets that biologicals have no chance of colonizing , and are very adept researchers . They will prefer to use MDD's to kill population , rather than taking population . You get to be Unit Prime based on how many biologicals that you first kill , and secondarily enslave . Should be fun to watch to see if Pete has given a non player race real teeth .

A good guess, as there are certain events that can be triggered, and others that can be triggered after that--but always caused by player activity. Somebody was caught snooping about in a bad place, waking a slumbering giant. I had wondered how many turns would go by before it would begin. :robot:

That sounds ominous.
