Pretty cool, although there seems to be a consistent typo everywhere the word "calculate" appears.

If your race comes of age and/or leaves its turtle shell, you will find it useful in a few years.

Cestvel, does this work with Graphviz?

Morgwen, I have around 30+ systems and I have been playing for a year so if you explore hard you will find the number of systems will grow quickly.

Cestvel, forgive me for speaking out of turn, and correct me if I'm wrong.

Ali, this is a stand alone program that works off of your .mdb data file from Rolling Thunder. It has nothing to do with GraphViz.

You can use GraphViz to generate a visual of your part of the galaxy, but you will use this app to find the shortest path between systems. It's of somewhat less use to someone with only a few systems explored, but I don't know how you would live without it once your map grows very large.

Try this out ASAP! Very cool! Very easy to use! Very useful! And very free! Thanks Cestvel!

Drasn said it all (thanks).

I was thinking of adding an export feature to a dot-file. More support would
be real work, as this is only a small tool, which took only minor work sor far, but
incorporating a call to graphviz would be much more configuration work.

The Exporting feature would only free you from entering the Warppoint and systems once.
But I do not see the need of this on an ongoing basis. So I decided, not to do something like that. But feel free to make suggestions, of how you would like to see it combined with graphviz.

Ok, maybe it's just my work pc, but I can't open this. Any suggestions?

Lord Uriel, this is your I.T. Dept. Put the spreadsheet down and step away slowly. This is your only warning. You will go to lunch now, and we will "fix" your computer for you. Why don't you have a nice, relaxing glass of mead with your pasta?

My suggestion is to not allow feature bloat to ruin an otherwise simple and elegant app. Fix bugs if they're found. Enhance current functionality if needed. But don't add new features without really strong justification. It's a relatively perfect tool as is.

Cestvel, I did not understand how the tool works when I asked the question. It seems fine as is so i don't see any need to add any further features to it.

Mmmm, mead. Pasta. Mmmm.

Yes, I figured it had something to do with the kill-joys here on my end. They even blocked Ebay!

I'll check it out when I get home.

Ok, I hope you are refering to the exe in the zip ;^)

the program uses the jet library which is also used by the entry-program.

It should work on the same PC where your entry program runs. On others
it may lack libraries.

I have even tried it on other PCs, but these where were at least Windows XP boxes.

The download, if this is your problem, should work fine, just tried it.
