(The recorded message is full of static, and your translators struggle with the grunts and growls which is the language of the Gosht Kohr. Soon, the message is clear. The lioness, looking both regal and tired, looks ernestly at you...)

To all free citizens of the universe.

I am Sha'thar, ruling eldress of the Hunting Sisters of the Gosht Kohr. I greet you in peace.

As we sought to expand our pridelands, explore, and meet new friends and allies, we made contact with an Empire known as the Ghor'jaan. They are a fanatic race, seeking to destroy all those around them in a gleeful orgy. At one time we had a non-aggression pact with the Ghor'jaan. This was broken, by them, suddenly and violently. All further attempts at negotiations have been rebuffed.

They have been at war for a long time, and their technologies for waging space warfare seems much more advanced than our own. Especially in the area of armor... but we've yet to see the full extent of their technologies.

We will fight to hold the hyenas at bay as long as we can. We send this map of the warp points in our region in the hopes that smaller empires can avoid this menace, and larger empires might one day stem the tide of destruction. On the map, the home system of the Ghor'jaan is located at the top, represented as a darkened circle.

Other such marks on this map represent civilizations we've not heard from for some time. We fear they've reverted to anarchy.

Fight to save yourselves, if not to avenge us. May all your hunts be successful.

Sha'thar... the transmission was garbled and several system names were cut off. Is it possible to retransmit to clarify the abutting pages in the hopes of finding a common system?

Also, any design information on Ghor'jaan ships encountered would be helpful for any of us who might need to defend againstthe Ghor'jaan or who might be able to offer assistance. Any and all information is welcomed in the (inevitable??) struggle against the religious zealots.

...... BEGIN TRANSMISSION

Oh proud huntress of the Gosht Kohr. We apologize if this is not the greeting that is required to address you but we wish to inform you that we have received your transmission. Although some of it was garbled our crptologists were able to decpiher enough of the markeings to be able to ascertain that the systems lsted are not known to us. We are sortry that this is true for we sorely wish to provide material support to you during this fight. We are heartened that you will fight as this may give us time to find a common system. We are starting a crash program to build additional survey vessels in the hopes that we can accomplish this. We will come as fast as we can to your aid.

Ali-t-akua

END TRANSMISSION ...........

Good to see you stay. However it might have been a good idea not to give away the position of the Bon Bons in the process...
