What's your favorite technical discovery in the game? For me, it has to be Transwarp drive. With this piece of technology and high power engines for max AP's, it opens the door completely for space exploration and colonization. :D

KRYTEN: A superlative suggestion, sir, with just two minor flaws. One, we don't have any defensive shields, and two, we don't have any defensive shields. Now I realise that, technically speaking, that's only one flaw but I thought it was such a big one it was worth mentioning twice. Red Dwarf

Mk I Holographic Cybernetic Battle Director :D

Trust us we really did discover this all on our own without any assistance by anyone else promise. :D

Alkay we discovered it about four turns ago when we droped ground forces on an advanced neutral that we had recently discovered in our home system. This should be a leason for all players out there, note which worlds you haven't done PMAP's for yet.

We have to go with the NTWD for the win, with Species Engineering coming in second.

Hmmm. More-than-elephant-sized, genetically engineered predatory felines... someone call the SciFi Channel....

Type A Stasis Field Generator -- All conventional weapon firepower impacting the sphere is shrugged off. It is possible to punch holes in the stasis shell, but it is not easy. Stasis fields provide protection against every known weapon type. It is not as efficient at this protection as defensive systems designed to combat each individual weapon type, but it covers everything at once.

The perfect complement to high end force shields and armor. So even if they get through your ships force shields, all the damage gets reduced, making your armor last that much longer. Can everyone say "Unstoppable Dreadnaught"?

There are incredibly powerful weapons systems out there. Your going to need
all the defenses that one can muster to defend against them.

I'd say my favorite tech is the Plasma Torpedo. I kinda like the idea of a ball of superheated matter so big that it engulfs evenmy ships. I won't say how big as Im in a war, but they're getting pretty far up there.

Two items; Mk IX Force Shield & Species Engineering. Can you imagine the finest infantry in known space with the research skills of a Brain-in-a-Jar race?
