Btw, despite the new PC the stupid board still fails to "remember" me and requires me log on!

Have just upgraded to a new PC and now when I read a message on the boards, the message is not marked as "read", instead I have to click on "mark all messages as read" to keep track on what I've looked at. Any suggestions?

Eldred,
I think the "stupid board" relies on cookies to remember you. Does your PC's settings not allow cookies to be saved? (Sometimes, virus writers hide their handywork in cookies, so your new PC may have come with a default setting of cookies OFF.)
Your "read" messages problem may be due to the same thing.
That's all that I can think of.

No, cookies are saved as normal. I have even deleted the relevant cookies and started again. Still no joy. I know I am not the only one that the board stubbornly refuses to remember. Hence the term "stupid board"!
