Has anyone else noticed that you apparently can cram fighters/Drones together tightly ? I was going to scrap an old destroyer for upgrading when I noticed that it held 100 Standard Drones (20000 tons) and 100 Fighters (10000 tons) and 15 Interceptors...now I had 1 fighter bay and 1 Drone rack on that old ship which mean I should be able to field a total of 10000 tons of Drones and 10000 tons of fighters so what gives? And no, I don't have any cargo space on those old ships.

They are gremloid drones and fighters. Much smaller than the usual but your empire is using plans stolen from giants so there is lots of space?
