Lotix1417
*Dont read if you haven't seen the movie* The age thing wasn't a big deal, IMO... after all pirate captains of the era were elected (generally) and Depp's character certainly displayed a knack for that role. Some other technical issues were problems (such as gunpowder mixing in water and such) but nothing quite compares to the Rivendell elves marching to Helm's Deep... heck if they were heading that way anyhow, why not send them with the fellowship the whole way... a really bad change, making the 1st movie better (despite all of the close ups of blue eyes). -Lotix1417
Cargus10
I agree that the elves at Rivendell was a bad move, but I understand why they did it - to let the movie-gores see someone besided humans doing all the fighting, and to drive home the point that Sauron threatened everyone. But they couldn't have gone with the Fellowship, that would have attracted too much attention (not that the Fellowship went unnoticed in the end, but hey...) As long as we're doing "why didn't's": Why not just whistle up Gwahir and have him fly Frodo to Mt. Doom and pop the Ring in? or at least to the edges of Mordor...clearly it could have been done over a few days; that was one big eagle!
T'Aleen Empire
Well ya can't do that BECAUSE the flying Bad Guys and that Damn eye<VBG> would have seen him!
ShadowKitsune
Feh! A small amount of grade school treachery could've gotten a Hobbit-carrying Giant Eagle past Ole One-Eye and Team Nazghul. There wasn't that many of them and unless you put the ring on they couldn't zero in on you (or else they would have picked up the One Ring a long time ago).
T'Aleen Empire
 But could the Eagle carry that 'FAT' Hobit over that high mountain and all that way...Hmmm

Did you ever read any of the Finneous Fingers exploits from the old Dragon magazine? (hobbits+hawks+rings of feather falling). As for the Rivendell elves, to show more than humans fighted Sauron/Saruman, they could have had a skirmish with orcs by Rivendell or an event such as the Orc attack on Lothlorien... *anything* but having elves teleport to Helms Deep to save the day. *ack* -Lotix1417
Galvorn
Elves at Helm's Deep was indeed weird. But not as weird as Arwen getting such a plumb act....she is a babe though....
