  1. Sorry to be the bearer of bad tidings, but there IS a 200cm version. On the bright side it was an exploration find, so it is possible the weaponry is from a similar exploration expedition.
  2. I know this must be on the boards lots of times but am too lazy to look . It's seems like ages since I had any SRPs to spend so can anyone tell me what I can spend them on? I seem to recall I can spend them on up to 4th Gen tech (where 1st Gen is what you start with). Is this correct?
  3. Greetings, have sent a message on your comms channel
  4. Bizarre and very annoying as I've just shipped thousands of tons of CMs over in order to construct the power plants. This game is complex enough anyway without having to bargain for which rules work and which rules don't
  5. I am someone hesitant to mention this as it may cause me some issues but... Last turn I built a Deep Core Heatsink at a colony with horrendous attrition due to the temperature. I knew that we wouldn't have the requisite power (25,000) to run the thing until next turn and expected an error message. But, it worked perfectly, drew no power and stopped the attrition. Have I missed something here or is it another job for Pete?

    100 UP!

If my calculations are correct we have just witnessed turn 100. Congrats to Pete & Russ and everyone who has stuck with it. If however this was actually turn 99 then please delete this thread Pete
  7. Ahem...I take it all back v1.61 is excellent (managed to fix my graphics issues with a few tweaks to config.ini file) After spending some some time playing both CIV4 and Galactic Civ II, I have found CIV4 more enjoyable over the long haul. Downloading the patch now! <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Spent a frustrating night with the new patch...lots of new goodies but it seems that some of the graphics memory bugs fixed by the magic bullet which was v. 1.52 have now returned in v.1.61 Will probably reinstall and play with v.1.52 for now - not impressed <{POST_SNA

  9. Civ 4 patch v1.61 is now available for download
  10. Ahem...is no-one bothering speculating this time or are we all resigned to seeing our turns tomorrow
  11. Is this total number of EXPL or EXPL over a planet? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Total number of EXPL everywhere each turn
  12. Thanks for the responses - at 60 XEXPL we haven't noticed much difference (ie hit rate) than at 40, although as some of our worlds are nearly "explored out" this is hard to gauge. Where did the information about a drop off in returns above 40 XEXPL come from? Would be interested to know as we will be up to about 70 shortly.
  13. Just out of interest, how many XEXPLs are people doing each turn? We are currently at 60.
  14. Just wondering if Pete has tweaked the code for primitive neutrals and the like. We have "converted" 2 such pop groups in the last few turns and were quietly impressed with the contents of the stockpile. A vast improvement to our previous experience of converted PGs. Anyone else noticed a difference?
  15. Thanks for the response. How long have the Sith Fleets failed to move? Hmmmm....you could try prodding them with a stick? In the event of no response from the Sith we will continue our explorations, sounds like our vessel could be in for nasty shock if we go through the wrong WP. We are a long way out from our homeworld and our exploration ship poses no threat to you (or anyone else for that matter). Perhaps we can discuss this further when I have a little more data to share with you - maybe then such an unfortunate incident can be avoided.
