Drasn
As far as I know, we still aren't able to use a pop grp as a reference for csv's on planets or moons other than that on which it is located. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I doubt this is useful information, but ... Since I haven't learned species engineering yet, I assumed that my LifeForm modifier wasn't changing, so the diff between CSVs was only relative. Based on that, I normalized all of my CSV data on a common LifeForm value. Then I took the difference between the favorable values (LifeForm and Terrain in my CSVs to date) and the unfavorable ones (Atmos, Temp, etc.). The resulting number is a kind of numeric rating for the planet. When I compare my calculated values to their attrition ratings (Zero, Low, Moderate, etc.) I see a nice non-overlapping pattern of ranges like: Zero 0 Very Low 31 - 37 Moderate 49 - 99 High 125 - 163 Very High 186 Clearly I don't have enough data yet to fully define the ranges, or even prove I'm not fooling myself, but it's encouraging. If this is right then it would be possible to make comparisons between worlds CSV'd by a single race. This seems like pretty worthless info though. It still just comes down to looking at the CSV to see where your problem areas are. Interesting though!
