RichTxt32.ocx file missing

I have the program installed on 5 different computers including 2 laptops. My OS 's range from XP Home, w/without SP2, XP Pro W/WO SP2. I used to use a Win2000 machine and it worked but that was 8-10 months ago.

Maybe you need to install more stuff from Mr Gates so you can get all the updated files. It seems to me that Visio or something corrected all of these issues once it was installed, but I don't remember the details.

Good Luck

Another Thought on the Matter

Not sure if this works, but when you install the program, does it not have a setup file list? If so, you could search for each of the files listed vs what is on the computer and give you an idea of maybe whats missing.

Here's what my list shows (I run win XP home): ==> hope it helps! If you need any of these let me know!! (sn-larry@lwlawrence.com)

No problem here. Just recounting my fix in case it helps someone else.

I just tried to fill out my turn on my new machine. The new install of Imperial Palace didn't install the tdbg6.ocx and vb5db.dll files. They were easy enough to find on the web. I downloaded them and dropped them in my system32 dir. The program ran.

I got a number of orders entered when I made the inevitable mistake, and needed to edit an order. When I pressed the 'Edit Orders' button I got "Run Time Error 438 - Object Doesn't Support this Property or Method".

Morgwen's post was right on track. Open the c:\snrote\SetupFiles\SETUP.LST file for a list of expected files and versions. I found that the tdbg6.ocx I found on the web was version 6.0.0.204. The version expected was 6.0.0.215. I couldn't find that version on the web, but luckily I've still got my old machine which had the right version. Copied it to my new machine and all is well!

If you can't find the right file, anyone who has a working copy of Imperial Palace probably has the right versions installed. Of course I'll be happy to send any needed files I have, just drop me a line!

Well, I've never gotten the progam to work correctly, and I finally gave up.

Yeah my motto is, if at first you don't succeed, try again. Then give up. No sense being stupid about it.

So, yeah its annoying that I can't just install a program with a setup.exe, but oh well. I'll try these additonal suggestions and see how it goes.

my version of ocx was 204.

Hello Octagon999,

Just upgraded PC and experienced the same problems as you, namely 438 errors. But have just solved them.

I suggest try running IMPERIAL PALACE setup again and when the message comes up saying that you have newer versions of the .dll etc files in place do you want to keep these newer versions - say No to all.

If you want to give it a try I hope it works for you.

The solution for me was found in Drasn's comment...

This is because you did not complete the install, read the instructions again, and do the last step, that will solve the problem
