WKE235
what path or atleast area do you have to know to 'release' ICE? 3rd Gen Industrial Science and 3rd Gen Planetary Science are required to open up ICE-1 for research (which rated as a Poor weapon is a quick research item), 4th gens for the next lvl, etc... Civil Administration is needed to open up higher Industrial Science Gens.
EEOC
We had over a 15k swing in the early days. We also dropped a lot of the stuff. I would have to go back and look. Resources become moot at some point because industrial capacity can't handle it all. Nice problem to have really.
WKE235
Experiment Number 2 Subject -- Our friend the Gas Giant from Experiment Number 1 Experimental package consisted of 20,000 tons of ICE-2, twice the previous pacakage. Goal was to see if the results from the first experiment on increase levels (barring a catastrophic result) continue to pan out. .....................................Original Value .............New Value Gaseous Elements: ...............629...........................1175 Geothermal Potential: ...........597...........................1420 Industrial Chemicals: ............972...........................1872 Radioactive Elements: ...........602...........................1371 Rare Elements: .....................424...........................539 Total net increase in value: 3158 resource units for 20,000 tons of ICE-2. An average of 0.1579 units per ton dropped. Prior results were 0.1467 per ton. While experimental results are to limited to say for certain at this time, a rule of thumb of 0.15 units gained per ton dropped (with large enough amounts and barring disaster) might fit. Now .. I need to figure out what to do next for fun.
sir smeg
There's always dropping 1 ton of ICE onto a nice little colony, just keep doing it every turn to find out what "catastrophic results" does do.

Actually, an interesting thought. I have a lot of worlds with colony flags on them that are explored out, and are of very little resource value. A fast cargo ship, dropping ICE-2 on each every turn .. could even do GEO's ... so I could do 8, 10, or more worlds each turn. Maximize the chances of getting a bad hit. Could even make it a convoy route. Hmmmm ... this has some possibilities. Have to think this through a bit.
