1. I see the following in my shipyard production que:

520 Pathfinder 0 / 12,000 Corvette class Assign to Fleet 101

520 Pathfinder 0 / 12,000 Fleet Explorer class

520 Pathfinder 0 / 12,000 Fleet Scout class

530 Pathfinder 0 / 12,000 Corvette class

530 Pathfinder 0 / 12,000 Fleet Explorer class

530 Pathfinder 0 / 12,000 Fleet Scout class

540 Pathfinder 0 / 12,000 Corvette class

540 Pathfinder 0 / 12,000 Fleet Explorer class

540 Pathfinder 0 / 12,000 Fleet Scout class

550 Pathfinder 0 / 12,000 Corvette class

550 Pathfinder 0 / 12,000 Fleet Explorer class

550 Pathfinder 0 / 12,000 Fleet Scout class

560 Pathfinder 0 / 12,000 Corvette class

560 Pathfinder 0 / 12,000 Fleet Explorer class

560 Pathfinder 0 / 12,000 Fleet Scout class

Does this mean i will build 15  pathfinders or only 5 (i assume it is 5)?

2. My homeworld has an Hydroelectric Potential of 302. Do you use the same formula for the number of Hydroelectric Power Plants to build as the one you use for mines?

<number of plants>*(1000+20*<yield>)

Our hydro potential is 304 and we found it was more efficient to tear down our starting fission plants and build hydro plants with the resulting conmats. More efficient, and environmentally safer!

I believe thebreakpoint for hydro power is 200. With any potential over 200 it is more efficient to build them than any other form of power production. Aside from being safe you never have to worry about running out of the fuel, which is a real bummer when it happens.

This also applies to Geothermal potential.

For mines/refineries etc. the optimal number is:

5 * (resource rating - 20) and let it end on 5

For example 5 * (160 - 20) = 700 -> 705

production: ((number of mines) * (recource rating - (number of mines / 10)) + resource rating / 2)

For example ((705) * (160 - (705 / 10) + 160 / 2) = 63.450

So 705 mines/refineries produce 63.450 recources.

Stripmines + Industrial complexes can produce as much as recouces with a rating of 20:

1 stripmine = 1.000 raw. 4 Industrial complexes are needed to make a 100 recources (1000 / 250). 5 * 20 (recource rating) is also 100.

So do not mine stuff that has a recource rating of 20 or below.

Excellent advice when starting out. Remember to adjust those numbers once Improved ICs and Stripmines come along...

...And once you can start to raise your yields...
