Just missing the Level 7 Diplomat

My other empire has an Army Officer who is listed as being an Overlord.

That empire went through a revolution. The previous emperor was named "Overlord Tickizzt" in the setup process. The current Overlord Army Officer is character number 13. There are 2 other Army Officers, character numbers 6 and 9, at rank Marshal and Field Marshal.

I have a few other Army Officers further down the list. But none of my Army Officers are listed as Grand Marshal.

Does this mean that my character #13 is the new Emperor? I thought character #2 became the new emperor. (Character #2 is listed as a Provincial Governor.)

Or is PhaseDragon incorrect, and 7th level Army Officers are Overlords, not Grand Marshals? It seems that Grand Marshal should be the correct title, but I'm confused. :alien2:

SssargonKingofSsslith,

wasss your Army Officer a Grand Marssshall?

I believe that the REVO order takesss you highessst level character and makesss him or her your leader (Overlord), a tie and the leader with the lower leader number is chosssen (sssay you have 3 level 7 charatersss the lowessst number would now be your Emporer). Or ssso we belive.

CTO, Sssarasss

Thanks for the responses. I also found an answer from Pete in a similar thread that I should have read yesterday.

It appears that Character 13 is my new emperor. Overlord is the emperor title that I selected at setup. I don’t know what his rank was before the Revolution, but that was many turns ago.

It all seems obvious now. But because of the way this happened, I was thinking that level 7 Army Officers were called Overlord. That’s why I became confused when PhaseDragon posted his list with Grand Marshal in the level 7 spot.

I now understand 12% of this game.
