Kurassier
and before someone says it, I'm NOT talking about drinking so much that you tilt with the planet....
Ixitixl
Care to give us a hint on the Tech needed to change the gravity of a planet?
Laserwolf
Now I understand (I think). But it sounds like optimal attrition reduction in a noxious atmosphere would include only domed cities. Octus And subterranean cities and atmospheric exchangers
athonian
if my h-world is about 70k cooler than another world that i really really want) and i have domed cities (it also has a different atmosphere) will it be worth colonizing? Colonial Attrition Survey They analyze general information about the planet, and determine that the attrition rate at this world would be extremely high, with the survival of any new colony being in question even over a short time period. Your survey teams break down the cause of the attrition into the following categories: Atmosphere:...........---------------------| Temperature:..........---------------------| Gravity:..................| Axial Tilt:................---------| Terrain (favorable)..| Lifeform (favorable).--|
Ur Lord Tedric
if my h-world is about 70k cooler than another world that i really really want) and i have domed cities (it also has a different atmosphere) will it be worth colonizing? My short answer would be no, as the temperature and axial tilt will crucify you. It just depends if you're happy to lose colonists/population if the yields are that good..... If you have lots of excess pop, then maybe.... We haven't been that cruel - but then we haven't found that 1,000+ Iron yield either...... hobknob
I believe it is the weather stations that fix axial tilt.

athonian
well that planet has 700 iron... god i want it. subterreanian cities would help wouldn't it? caves are cooler right?
hobknob
Subterranen cities do not effect temperature. You would be better off reserching species engineering for a few years so you can modify your lifeform.
Sakarissa
Doing that as we speak. Of course, it's been nice since my scientists seem to have a penchant for Species Engineering. They have accumulated 6 breakthroughs over 10 turns on the current generation. That tech went from the 60% range to the 90% range this past turn when 2 of the 6 breakthroughs came in. I love my scientists. Sakarissa
