Attrition report question

Hi all,

 

Reviewing my turn and I just noticed something. In the section where you get growth rate and excess power is a line regarding one colony. It says:

 

"x population units perish in Population Group #yyyyy on <planet ID> - (x-3) due to colonial attrition!"

 

The quesiton I have is, how is it that only a portion of the dead pop units are due to colonial attrition? Aren't ALL the dying Pops due to colonial attrition? If not, how can I prevent the deaths that AREN'T due to colonial attrition?

Steve are you sure that is not the number of the planet? In looking back that is what I notice.

 

Mine read "x population units perish in Population Group #yyyyy on <system name> - <planet number> due to colonial attrition!"

The format is:

 

<X> Population Units perish in Population Group #<Y> on <Planet ID> due to colonial attrition.

 

<X> is the total number of Population that perished.
