Prospective
Let's say I have one fleet with 2 ships in it. The first ship has 10,000 cargo bays and the second has 2000 cargo bays. For cargo the fleet has a total of 3 colony beacons aboard. If I split up the fleet, and put the 2000 cargo bay ship in the new fleet, will any cargo go with it? Or will it stay on the original fleet since there are still 10,000 cargo bays in it? Is there a way to get 2 of the 3 colony beacons to go with the new fleet? I already have an opinion as to what happens, but can anyone out there pass on their observations? Thanks.

If memory serves, the ship that you transfer out will take all the cargo it can hold with it; so in your example two Beacons would go with the ship
ShadowKitsune
That has been my experience as well. The "child" fleet takes as much as it can with it, in [English] alphabetical order. Thus if you had 9000 Advanced Fuel and 3 Colony Beacons, it would have started with the Advanced Fuel and only taken 2000 of that, leaving the Colony Beacons and the remaining Advanced Fuel behind. YMMV, -SK
