Takeda
How many mines do you think it takes to completely shut down a seaspace? I have heard 9,000. What do you guys think? Hey Morocco Vic67...don't read this. Takeda
nfbeerse
Hello Takeda, I have heard that about 10,000 mines shut a seazone completely. There have fortunately not been many minefiled combats in my battlereports, but I have seen a few. At ratings above 3,000 even minesweepers have a problem entering the field... Bear in mind that mines degrade every turn by 10%. Norbert
Takeda
Thanks Norbert... 10,000 wow
ShadowKitsune
Trying not to think about how many MUN that 10,000 Mines consumes. I do have one other question: Does the Minelaying Rating equate to the number of Mines which are laid in a single turn? (i.e. The Adventure-class [bN-15] has a rating of 350, does that mean it lays 350 Mines per turn?) Thanks, -SK
Limburgia
yep....... Maybe morale has impact but you could look that up in the rules.
nfbeerse
Hey Limburgia, You mean experience. Experience is a modifier for all combatpurposes, including minelaying capacity. With aircraft, also distance to target are calculated for minerating. The further you fly, the less mines are dropped. Norbert
GeneralismusPeter
Adding more then 32k of mines has no more effect! The level of mines won't rise any more. Shutting down a Sea zone is nearly impossible but with 10K plus you'll be very well underway.
Takeda
Maybe in some game I will try to hit 10,000 mines and let you know how it works out. Takeda
nfbeerse
Good luck in the minehunt. Let me know the results. If the resulst are promising, I will also consider the same tactic of sailing richt into a minefield with my valuable ships...
