Clan Elder 'Keen
What happens if you do a CTRN (or XCTRN) for more than your current unemployed pop? Logic would suggest that you train exactly the number of colonists as unemployed pop. Of course finicky code might eat up some additional employed pop, losing the installations in the process. Anyone know?
RTGPete
In this case, the CTRN would only convert as many unemployed pop as you have available, reducing your CTRN order quantity to that amount.

ali-t-akua
I can add that I experienced this exact problem last a few turns ago and indeed the only negative effect was I did not have enough Colonists produced. Since I had a few stockpiled, the only negative was being annoyed with myself for the miscalculation.
