INST: Subterranean City

Subterranean City: Subterranean Cities provide safe, clean and affordable housing for your colonists, with

the added benefit of being sealed from harsh atmospheric and planetary surface

conditions. It is much more difficult for alien flora and fauna to invade a City than

open encampments, reducing colonial attrition as a result. Cities are manned by 1

Population unit, and provide housing for 100 additional Population.

Production requirements: 25,000 Advanced Construction Materials

Consumes:

Requires: 3rd Generation Civil Engineering as a prerequisite technology

Requires: Advanced Construction Materials as a prerequisite technology

Pretty strait forward. You would have stumbled over it anyways.

Thank you very much. I thought I had everything I needed but my Civil Engineering is still at 2nd Generation.

p.s. I am not so sure about the "affordable" bit of the description.

Well they do get the housing for free. I'd call that affordable. :(

Colonists love having both surface housing and subterranean dwellings available to them. A nice dome is always nice as well. This translates into: the general colonization modifier bonuses from all three city types stack, so you could build one of each for every 100 pop on the world and receive benefits from all of them. Whether it's worth the cost or not depends entirely on the budget given to your Colonization Bureau.....
