tigeriith
To make recycle easier wouldn't it be nice if the LC and TR orders had an option to move ALL the items above (below) the 1 === ^ End Resources ^ === 1 line so that you could easily transfer out the base materials and leave the items to be scrapped. RTGPete
To make recycle easier wouldn't it be nice if the LC and TR orders had an option to move ALL the items above (below) the 1 === ^ End Resources ^ === 1 line so that you could easily transfer out the base materials and leave the items to be scrapped. That could be done, but the End Resources line does not define which items can be recycled and which cannot. Recycling Centers have a very specific exclusion list to skip items, and it's not just Resourcers versus Non-Resources. For example, Improved Steel is considered a Resource, but can be broken down into Iron, which could later be turned into the often far-more-useful Advanced Steel or even regular Steel. Improved Crystals turn into Raw Resources, which might seem wasteful, but in many cases Improved Crystals and other Improved base resources are totally useless (they are the in-between stage from normal to Advanced versions, and are often made obsolete rather quickly), so they can be broken down as well. However, breaking down raw Crystals is almost always a waste of considerable industrial and recycling effort, so they will now be excluded from recycling. The odds of any Empire wanting to break down Crystals into Raw Resources so that they can later turn those Raw Resources into something like Iron are extremely low because of the huge amount of industrial effort needed to accomplish that goal, so Crystals, Meat, Grains, Iron and so forth will no longer be disassembled. This should aim your Recycling Centers more squarely at items like Mk II Deflectors or many items found from EXPL missions which can get outdated and are otherwise not so useful after a while.
