Can you use say Improved Steel to make an item that requires Steel? (Ie standared Hull Plate) Or... do you have to keep making normal Steel and then Improved Steel when I need that? If you need an improved item to create a finished product, the basic and advanced versions of that item will not work. You will need to make the specific items for each finished product.
