Hamish
This is what the rules say about calculating an army's morale: Offensive MoraleDefensive MoraleOffensive and Defensive Morale is the average morale of the force that is based on the experience levels of the component divisions and the percent of the force they represent. The higher the Force Morale, the more losses the force will accept before breaking off an attack (offensive) or either retreating or surrendering (defensive). Anyone know how 'the percent of the force they represent' is calculated? Is it based on effectiveness, or on offensive firepower for offensive morale and defensive firepower for defensive morale? Falco
I calculate morale by %effectiveness*morale for the units, divided by the total effectiveness. That gets the same numbers as you find on your results. So 55% green unit and a 90% line unit have an offensive morale of: ((0.55*10)+(0.9*30))/1.
Hamish
OK, thanks. I guess it's really close anyway, unless you're using AAA/Flak divisions. I'll use your formula!
Hamish
And how does it work for air forces? The possibility of having F (80 planes per group) and HF (60 planes per group) in the same air force is throwing me off.
Falco
Haven't tried that. Logically you would have 40/80 green as 50% green. Comes down to the same calculation then.
