Sorrows Posted October 1, 2023 Report Posted October 1, 2023 so i have a formula for how many engines i need based on current tonage without engines. i also have a formula for bridges (same formula really) currentTonnage/((thrust/AP desired)-100) or same with bridge currentTonnage/((bridgeSTR/tgts)-weight) but when you add one you have to add more of the other until it averages out. So is there a way to figure out both simultaneously? like a spreadsheet formula that you just add the thruster power, desired AP, bridge str, #tgts, and bridge weight(usually 100 but some are more) Quote
Sakarissa Posted October 8, 2023 Report Posted October 8, 2023 My ship building spreadsheet calculates APs, FC, integrity, shield strength, etc automatically as I put stuff into the design. I fine tune by taking and adding things in the design until I get the stats I want out of the design. Quote
Rufus Firefly Posted October 9, 2023 Report Posted October 9, 2023 What you have is a set of simultaneous equations. There might be a solver for that in Excel. Quote
Sorrows Posted October 14, 2023 Author Report Posted October 14, 2023 Sakarissa, would you mind sharing that spreadsheet with me? Quote
hobknob Posted October 18, 2023 Report Posted October 18, 2023 Lots of spreadsheets out there for ship design... Quote
