Justinian
...In fact, if I were Justinian, I'd be bracing for another assault ASAP (and he's a good player so I'm sure he is!) The tech on the Eyre fleet was VERY impressive, if you ask me. My deepest thanks for sharing this battle. The more smack/battle info we share, the more enriching the experience is for the slient masses who are busy working on Mk IV Jump Survey Sensors, colonies or NTWDs LOL <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Eternus, "bracing for another assault" is an ever-present state of mind by this point! In the Roman government, there is no breakout for Defense spending, Industrial improvement, Colonization, etc...the emperor officially changed the name from "Imperial Budget" to "Fleet Allocations." One good thing though...we've been able to round-up all the lobbyists and increase the Roman labor pool!
Galreth
All you folks that like the role playing part of this game need to get the story right so you can keep your role playing accurate. It is not disavowing, simply clarifying. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Well, as things currently stand--it was Allied space that was invaded, they are Allied ships doing the fighting (and a fair share of dying), and Allied commanders directing the defensive stand. So, yes, it's our story to tell as we are here and Macrohard is not. Our headlines still read, "PA Setback in Roman Home System". Martin's a great guy, its the Eyre you have to look out for... and he needs no assistance from us. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Two thoughts in reply: 1. Yeah, he's a peach alright. 2. Are you sure? Sha'thar of the Gosht Kohr
Sha'thar blinks, feeling just the tiniest bit left out. She needs something to sharpen the Empire's claws on. She goes to the game preserve and goes hunting, after calling her advisors and ordering more production for the shipyards.

D.I.E.
Any news on this war? What is the status of Lumeria, Phoenix empire, Shrike, VLD, DIE, IDE and friends?Kind regards, <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Well, I will try to keep my comments limited to what I know for sure: The Phoenix Empire is currently laying siege to the IDE home system. Two other empires, supposed Phoenix allies, are conducting offensive operations in IDE space: The Underdeep and Lumeria. Lumeria's big ship "Kraken" has been spotted near the IDE home system. D.I.E.
Oh, my! Phoenix Empire just attacked our home world. Wait a minite! We won!?! But... He is 4 generations ahead of us in bridge systems... He has very advanced CIDS, while much of our firepower was in missiles and fighters... He is two generations ahead of us in weapons technology... He is two generations ahead of us in armor technology... He is a generation ahead of us in force shield technology... Sure, I out-massed him by 35% or so, but still... Ahem! I mean... Of course we won! Buahahaha!!! Their superior intelect was no match for our puny weapons! CLEernest
This is good news. Perhaps Phenis and Lumeria should move what little effort they have put into attacking me and focus entirely on the I.D.E. before they get a chance to rebuild. The wars been slow, which is good. Lumeria has recently sent a warship in to my territory. I will post when battle is joined.

D.I.E.
Gratz, on surviving the HW Probe! <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Thank you for the kind thought. But, any empire that "probes" with over 11M tons of top of the line war ships, when they could have done of it with one of the 1,400 ton screens they had available on site, is truely to be pitied. Sha'thar of the Gosht Kohr
Cats never say "I told you so." At least not out loud. That's what cat-look number 427 is for. I do remember posting something long ago, stating the dangers the IDE (known as the DIE here on the boards) posed to the universe in general, and to their regional neighbors specifically. It will be interesting to see how the conflict resolves itself. Current indicators suggest that 11 million tons of warships will take about one full year to replace?
