I'm not sure its really great as a weapon.

a) costs a fortune

:P mostly benefits the enemy

c) can't go through a warp point so has to be made in-system

Has any one tried taking ICE through a WP? :woohoo:

Yes.

Wasn't pretty.

The term "catastrophic existance failure" comes to mind.

A recent TAC for one of my armies listed ICE as a weapon capability. Not certain if this was due to special forces in the Army or not. Just a thought. But it would appear that ICE is a weapon and the implication is that it would be available for use by the army. Since the troops can be warped to unfriendly locations, can we assume they make tactical quantities of ICE once they get to a target world? Or will my troops, that have the capability, have a catastrophic existence issue in transit? I doubt the latter.

I have had no problem transporting troops with ICE ground capabilities, so you are correct. My assumption was the same as yours, that they have a device that manufactures tactical quantities of it, as needed.

Probably mounted on the doors to their food refrigeration units. :P

So THAT'S why their field refrigerators are so darn expensive.....

SO, how do you train the troops to use ICE? I keep picturing a training session in boot camp. The Sgt. is standing next to some bubbling pile of goo, yelling at the rest of the raw recruits. "What is wrong with you maggots. Dr. Suess clearly said 'Do NOT touch the Ice without the protective gloves or special handling cup'. And what does former trainee Shmuck do but grab some ICE with a bare appendage. We appear to have a failure to communicate here. I will teach you to listen. Now put on your packs and give me two laps around the base. MOVE IT!!!".

I can also picture some serious accidents when ICE falls on the floor .. oops, the now molten mass of light metals.

I thought Kurassier was delivering it with his shipments of potables. :woohoo:

Absolutely. We use patented anti-warp field coils to contain the Ice during transit. :woohoo:

Is it Saturday afternoon yet?

Yes, it is..well at least here in Japan.

Our guess is that you have electronics specialists, computer hackers, or some other form of nerds who have a defensive ability called Intrusion Countermeasures Electronics. As most of you know, we have only recently discovered the concept of "war", but we have a long history of rivalry and espionage among different hives. When unathorized workers try to access our networks, ICE works like an active antivirus to stop them cold.
