Octus Imperium
Had an interesting find at an Astronomical Observatory. Was given the Warp Survey results of a class E warp point. Don't know if this will ever be of value to me. How often does this happen you more experienced explorers? Octus Imperium
Sakarissa
I've gotten Warp point information several times. As far as I can tell, it's a fairly rare find. And I haven't even found the systems they are in yet. Sakarissa
PhaseDragon
My understanding from a rumour somewhere was that a warp point found with an explore order indicates a system nearby. How close is anyone's guess.
WKE235
I have gotten 12 random Warp Point finds with my oldest race over time, and I have yet to find one of the 24 different stars listed. Zip. Zilch. Nada. Palladium Regency
Oh my! WKE you have gotten every system I own through exploration results. I am doomed! (grin) Just kidding.
Octus Imperium
Interesting. Nothing harder than an E for WKE. Of course, this could all be based on probabilites of each class. Or not. Thanks for the insights. Octus
MacBeth
I have gotten 12 random Warp Point finds with my oldest race over time, and I have yet to find one of the 24 different stars listed. Zip. Zilch. Nada. Alhmund--->C-31--->Mizgir Aubery--->B-46--->Shpalko Choiata--->C-38--->Dezra Edorta-->E-19-->Kugaldi Gayner--->C-33--->Winfryd Gudeliva--->B-39--->Aethra Inalda-->E-19-->Dortha Nedra--->D-14--->Qayine Rosaura--->D-32--->Iakhun Ruvim--->E-12--->Sylwan Xefe-->C-26-->Malei Sezor-->E-6-->Merika My race has surveyed close to 150 stars now, and I have yet to see these. "Xefe-->C-26-->Malei" Well, that one will help you in my neighborhood. The GMs once implied that there was a bias towards finding a warp point in the system where the exploration was taking place. So, it's not totally random. (In orhter words, trapped Pathfinders may be able to EXPLORE the route out of a system.) --MacBeth
Locklyn
I have also founds tons of these but noone that I have subsequently found in systems so if these systems actually exist outside that six wp area or the code is weird I do not know... /Locklyn
Hegemony of Shrubists
I have had several Star Map finds also. One opened up a stubborn "G" for me! Pat
Octus Imperium
I have had several Star Map finds also. One opened up a stubborn "G" for me! Pat Glad someone had some good luck with these finds. Guess we need to pray to the Gods of Randomness more often. And with some willing sacrifices..... hobknob
For myself I have found better than a dozen of these random starmaps and so far have yet to encounter a single system that they name. On the other hand, I have a buddy who found one in a system that he was stuck in and it was for a way out of that very same system. I have had a wide range of WP difficulties including F's and G's and even an A.
cestvel
My first find of these was a find done by a stranded Pathfinder. The found WP was the single one that led out of the system. The other finds are in systems still to encounter, but were done on my Homeworld, where naturally all WPs had been surveryed. Lord Xaar
I have had several Star Map finds also. One opened up a stubborn "G" for me! Pat I opened a G as well in this manner. (if I can really claim to have opened it myself, that is) It actually happened to be a system I was sitting in at the time. I wasn't trapped there, but that G was not going down for a little while. I think I have two or three others and I have never seen the system names anywhere. I think in general this kind of find probably won't be helpful, but every once in a while...perhaps... -LX
ali-t-akua
How do you find these? Do you do EXPL on WPs or do they show up randomly? Mahalo
cestvel
My WP finds are all from planetary EXPLs. On a starmap found at an Astronomical Observatory. Cestvel
