SCINAT
It is with heavy heart that I report the passing of Chad Bader who was a player in this game from Turn 0. Chad ran the Golden Sun Colonial Enterprise empire and was a generally low profile player in this game. I met Chad in BSE 25 or so years ago, where he was in the WCE and I was in the SMS. Chad died of renal failure brought on by an infection. And I think this was brought on by his broken leg. Thought some of you out there would want to know... Breoghan
It is always a sad occasion when a stalwart moves on, whether you knew him or not. RIP
Locklyn
Though we talked very little, what he had to say was always good stuff. My condolences to his family and friends... I once attended an funeral of a friend in Ireland and heard this sermon, unsure where it is from but it is always fitting... "Death is nothing at all. It does not count. I have only slipped away into the next room. Everything remains as it was. The old life that we lived so fondly together is untouched, unchanged. Whatever we were to each other, that we are still. Call me by the old familiar name. Speak of me in the easy way which you always used. Put no sorrow in your tone. Laugh as we always laughed at the little jokes that we enjoyed together. Play, smile, think of me, pray for me. Let my name be ever the household word that it always was. Let it be spoken without effort Life means all that it ever meant. It is the same as it ever was. There is unbroken continuity. Why should I be out of mind because I am out of sight? I am but waiting for you, for an interval, somewhere very near, just around the corner. All is well. Nothing is hurt; nothing is lost. One brief moment and all will be as it was before. How we shall laugh at the trouble of parting, when we meet again" An as always... May the road rise up to meet you, May the wind be ever at your back May the sun shine warm upon your face And the rain fall softly on your fields And until we meet again, May God hold you in the hollow of his hand /Lars
WKE235
Wow .. Chad and his GSC was the first player my Concordium ran into. We didn't trade a lot of mails. But the ones I did get were always from some who seemed a decent player, someone who would stick up for his friends and allies. Heck, he's probably the only player I let scout and map my Homeworld (and I did the same to him). And this is all so surprising. I have some mails from him from Mid April. Dang it all, definately someone who will be missed.

Lord Uriel
Words are always poor tools to express loss. I hope his passing was in comfort and he enjoyed the company of friends and loved ones before the end. I only knew him through emails and chance ship sigthings, but found him to be a good guy.
