What meaning has the "Orbital Distance (AU's)" shown in a system scan ???

AFAIK none that matters to the game mechanics.

It just tells you how far from the sun/primary of that system the object is located.

Of course there may be point terrain covering a range of AUs in a system. e.g. A Solar Flare Zone extends from 0AU to 0.6AU. This will show up next to a planet or moon when you do a SS command but not next to a Warp Point, you have to work that out for yourself or send a scout into potential doom.....DOOOM I say! Sorry just like the sound of that word :jawdrop:

Ahhh... ok... thanks! :)

Also tells you if the warp point or planet is in the range of solar flares and other things of that type.

Okay, one more for you, guys! :)

I'm working on NUD for a new more effective explorer. What do I have to put in there?

JSS, Space Labs, Survey Landers - what else?

For this check out these threads as I think they had all the stuff in them and are still up to date:

Also the new Flag Bridge line adds to Ground Exploration.
